David Kistle

David is well-known and respected in the public relations and communications industry. A former chairman of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), David has fused 35 years of experience into an incomparable understanding of communication research and measurement, public opinion, strategic planning and organizational development.
Today, he leads the research practice at Padilla Speer Beardsley, serving the information needs of clients ranging from community-based nonprofits to global corporations. His client list crosses a broad spectrum of industries, including consumer products, health care, technology, financial services, energy and education.
His work has received numerous awards from the IABC, the Public Relations Society of America and the Institute for Public Relations. David was the 2004-2005 chairman of IABC and chaired the IABC Research Foundation in 2001-2002.
David also is an educator, serving on the adjunct faculties of the University of Minnesota's journalism school and Webster University, based in St. Louis, Mo.
David graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor's degree in journalism. He holds a master's degree in advertising and marketing communication from the University of Illinois. David serves on the board of the Tubman Family Alliance, which fights family violence in the Twin Cities, and volunteers for the Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights.
