Lutheran Brotherhood, working with Padilla Speer Beardsley, is engaging Congress so they gain a better understanding of the full scope of LBs fraternal benefit programs. Together, LB and PSB developed a school curriculum to connect students with Congress. The "RespecTeen Speak for Yourself" program empowers young people, and builds awareness of Lutheran Brotherhood among members of Congress. Each year, 51 students are selected, from among 10,000, to attend a youth forum in Washington D.C. based on their letters to members of Congress. In addition to being "lobbied" by these students about an issue of concern to them, members of Congress have an opportunity to learn about LB and the contributions theyre making in communities.
