HealthPartners: Building a Strong Reputation with Strategic Communication

HealthPartners, Minnesota’s oldest and one of the largest managed care organizations in the country, hired Padilla Speer Beardsley to explain and present the organization and its mission to employers, members, legislators, brokers, employees and other constituents critical to the organization’s success. Based on research with consumers, employees and opinion leaders about managed care, health care quality, health care costs and reform initiatives, PSB developed high-profile visibility for HealthPartners through the news media, facility opening events, public speaking platforms, hosting national and local industry forums and community events. PBS’s public relations efforts over the last 17 years have helped moved HealthPartners from the ranks of socialized medicine with perceived second-rate doctors to one of the dominant industry players in the country.
