Padilla Speer Beardsley CEO to lead Meet Minneapolis board, new board members elected

MINNEAPOLIS - Dec. 17, 2009 - Meet Minneapolis, the city’s convention and visitors association, on Thursday announced that it’s board of directors has elected the head of one of the Twin Cities’ largest public relations firms as its chairwoman. Four new members are also joining the 42-member board.
Lynn Casey is chairwoman and CEO of Padilla Speer Beardsley. She takes over the Meet Minneapolis board from Jay Novak, editor and publisher of Minneapolis-based MSP Communications.
“We have a set of ambitious metrics to achieve in 2010, so I am thrilled that the organization has such a talented leadership team in place to execute and a well-rounded and committed board to provide guidance and oversight,” Casey said in a news release.
New board members elected to serve a three-year term are:
- Mark Andrew, founder and owner of Eden Prairie-based GreenMark, an environmental marketing and green sponsorship agency in the world of sports;
- Nancy Goldman, president of Unite Here Local 17, which represents workers who are employed at hotels, restaurants, bars and sports complexes;
- Susan Mabry, general manager of the W Minneapolis – The Foshay;
- Joann Neau, vice president and director of marketing for RBC Wealth Management.
