The Nancekivell Group, now part of Padilla Speer Beardsley, wins top Midwest honor for St. Jude annual report design
MINNEAPOLIS - Oct. 1, 2009 - The St. Jude Medical 2008 annual report, designed and produced by The Nancekivell Group — which is now part of Padilla Speer Beardsley, a multi-specialty communications firm based in Minneapolis — took top honors yesterday at the Midwest Annual Report Awards luncheon.
The publication was named No. 1 from more than 700 annual reports issued by public companies across the Midwest. The Midwest Annual Report Awards are sponsored and evaluated by three independent professions — finance, investor relations and graphic arts. The judges are members of the Chicago Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute; leading Chicago-area graphic designers representing the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), Chicago Chapter; and professors from DePaul University's Department of Finance.
"We appreciate that St. Jude Medical is transparent, open-minded and has a culture that fosters the highest-quality work," said Jim Nancekivell, who led his design firm for 27 years before joining forces last spring with Padilla. "We deeply appreciate the trust and creative freedom they gave us on this project."
