Matt's communications experience and versatility make him a valued counselor to a diverse range of clients and a strategic force for the firm of Padilla Speer Beardsley.
Matt has implemented strategic public relations programs and projects for a wide range of high-tech, manufacturing and business-to-business companies including Rockwell Automation, Microsoft, IBM, RSA Security, Entegris and Vocollect, among others. He has extensive expertise in corporate positioning and message development, media and presentation training, and communications around new products, services and mergers/acquisitions.
As a member of Padilla's Crisis Response Team, Matt advises clients on critical-issues communications and training. He also has conducted more than 150 Communicating For ActionSM sessions, the firm's proprietary planning methodology.
Matt is the firm's liaison to the Worldcom Public Relations Group, the world's largest network of independent public relations firms, and helps advise clients on how to communicate globally. He also leads Worldcom's membership initiative.
An accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America, Matt was named to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal's "40 Under 40" list of business professionals in 2006.
Matt is an adjunct instructor in the journalism school at the University of Minnesota, serves on the board of the Minnesota HighTech Association, and frequently lectures to professional associations. He also serves as a volunteer advisor for Pheasants Forever.
Prior to Padilla, he performed communications work at Cray Research and U.S. Bank. He graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a degree in journalism and business.
