Vice President, Corporate and Investor Relations
Al blends excellent financial-analysis skills, solid business acumen and exceptional interpersonal skills to establish lasting relationships with key internal and external company stakeholders. Al has a proven track record of success in several industries, including Internet and technology, enterprise software, financial services, health care and retail.
He has helped create investor relations programs at several public companies, and his keen understanding of capital markets and investor strategies has made him an effective liaison between executive management and the financial community.
In addition to strategic planning and investor relations, his experience includes mergers and acquisitions, capital markets activities, budget and forecasting, and accounting controls. He also has managed charitable-giving programs. Al served as a communications contact for several companies, and has been responsible for managing significant corporate announcements to the media.
Prior to joining Padilla Speer Beardsley, Al served as vice president of business development and investor relations for Retek, Inc., an enterprise software developer. He played a key role in the sale of the company to Oracle. Prior to Retek, Al was vice president of investor relations at Digital River, an Internet provider. There, he helped drive the completion of 10 acquisitions and several capital-raising transactions in both the debt and equity markets.
Al holds a master's degree in business administration, with a concentration in financial management and computer sciences from Pace University, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Fordham University. Al is a past president of the Twin Cities chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI).
