Selden Sutton is an expert on national media placement and special event planning and promotion.
During the course of her 15 year career in public relations, she has worked for a variety of clients ranging from Data General Corporation to Robert MacNeil of "The MacNeil/Lehrer Newshour." In the process, she has planned and managed dozens of cross-country media tours and has placed scores of clients on such programs as "Good Morning America," "Today" and "CBS Morning News," working with such media and other experts as Barbara Walters, Pierre Salinger and Henry Kissinger. She has also scheduled hundreds of feature stories in publications ranging from The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, and The Washington Post to Time magazine, where she has had two cover stories.
Prior to joining Padilla Speer Beardsley in 1984, Selden was head of public relations for Little, Brown and Company, where she had total responsibility for planning and managing special events and national publicity campaigns for more than 200 projects annually.
A graduate of Colby Sawyer College, New London, N.H., Selden has lectured on public relations at New York University and Marymount College.
Selden is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America, and is active in the Carnegie Hill Neighbors Association and Yorkville Community Association in New York City.
