Sandra Swanson, APR Vice President, St. Paul

As a vice president serving clients concentrated in health care, medical device manufacturing and professional services, Sandra offers more than 15 years of experience in the communications field. Since joining the firm in 1983, she has gained expertise in developing long-range marketing communications plans, creating and implementing effective media relations campaigns, developing and executing special events, promotions and new product introductions, conducting communications research, creating graphic identities, writing and producing collateral materials and providing general communications counsel. Sandra's clients include one of the nation's largest managed care organizations, a worldwide benefits consulting firm, a premiere high-volume printing corporation and several medical device manufacturers. She also has managed public relations for one of Minnesota's leading architecture firms and provides ongoing communications counsel to St. Paul economic development officials. Sandra is an Accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). She also was a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) from 1984 to 1995 serving two consecutive board terms as Member Services director. She has a long history of community involvement with local nonprofit organizations. Currently, she is fulfilling a 3-year board commitment for the Southeast Area YMCA serving as chair of the Community Relations Committee and a member of the Executive Committee. She was chosen 1996 Volunteer of the Year for her communications role surrounding a new YMCA facility in Woodbury, Minn. In addition, she sits on the marketing committee for Fraser Community Services, an organization serving special needs children and adults. For the St. Paul YWCA and the St. Paul Jaycees, she has held various officer, board and committee positions. Sandra has written communications-related articles for professional publications.
