Base Camp: Leaders Marian Briggs
Senior Vice President

Since joining the firm in 1985, Marian has worked extensively in investor and corporate relations -- focused on helping public companies identify the brokerage firms and institutional investors most likely to be interested, and then tailoring effective programs to reach these key constituencies. This regularly involves developing strategies for analyst/broker meetings, as well as annual and quarterly reports and financial news releases. Marian has counseled a variety of clients, helping them gain visibility in the financial, business and trade communities. She also specializes in executive speech writing.

Marian offers significant experience gained through her work with major consumer products manufacturers; several computer, technology and emerging growth companies; and financial services firms.

Prior to joining the firm, Marian worked for Conwed Corporation in several promotional services and investor relations management positions. Her accomplishments include spearheading the communications efforts surrounding Conwed's successful fight against a tender offer deemed too low by management. The company then exacted a price that was one-third higher and approved by the board of directors.

Prior to Conwed, Marian served as editor of two visitor guide magazines, This Week in Chicago, a weekly, 72-page trade journal, and Quad Cities, a bi-weekly publication.

Marian holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Marquette University.

Marian is a past president of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI), Twin Cities Chapter, and currently serves as a board member for the Chapter. She also serves on the board of directors of the Minnesota Technology Corridor Corporation, as well as the Greater Twin Cities Chapter of the March of Dimes. She is a past recipient of the Distinguished Volunteer Leadership award from the March of Dimes. Marian is also an active member of the American Electronics Association (AEA).
