Al Galgano
vice president, investor and corporate relations

Through the key management positions that Al has held in his career, he has been instrumental in helping companies to set their strategic direction and execute against goals and objectives. With a keen understanding of the capital markets and investor strategies, Al has also been responsible for creating the investor relations program at several public companies and has been the liaison between executive management and the financial community. Al blends excellent financial analysis skills, solid business acumen and exceptional interpersonal skills to establish long-lasting relationships with key internal and external company stakeholders.

With more than 25 years of experience, Al's career spans several areas of corporate finance. In addition to strategic planning and investor relations, his experience includes mergers and acquisitions, capital markets activities, budget and forecasting, and accounting controls. In addition to a deep level of experience in these areas, Al has also acted as a communications contact for several companies, and has been responsible for significant corporate announcements and working with the media. His experience also includes managing charitable giving programs. Al has a proven track record of success in several industries, including Internet and technology, enterprise software, financial services, healthcare and retail.

Prior to joining Padilla Speer Beardsley, Al worked for Retek Inc., an enterprise software developer, where he served as vice president of business development and investor relations. While there, he held a key management role in the recent sale of the company to Oracle. Prior to Retek, Al was vice president of investor relations at Digital River, an Internet provider, where he helped drive the completion of 10 acquisitions and several capital-raising transactions in both the debt and equity markets.

Al holds a master's of business administration degree in financial management and computer sciences from Pace University and a bachelor's degree in political science from Fordham University. Currently, Al serves as president of the Twin Cities chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute.
