Twin Cities-based Padilla named America's "Best Agency to Work For"

MINNEAPOLIS - May 12, 2010 - Padilla Speer Beardsley is the nation's "Best Agency to Work For," according to The Holmes Report, which announced the prestigious award last night. Padilla - a communications consulting firm with offices in Minneapolis and New York - earned the coveted distinction over a crowded field of 80 public relations competitors, ranging from major multinational to boutique agencies.

Padilla CEO Lynn Casey accepted the award in New York City from The Holmes Report, a global public relations publication and its founder, Paul Holmes, who is one of the industry's most influential observers.

"Once you get the people part right, everything else falls into place," Casey said in accepting the honor at Holmes' annual SABRE award celebration.

Padilla - an independent firm with more than 110 employee-owners - was selected following Holmes' annual survey of nearly 5,000 employees at America's leading public relations firms. Those results help determine the winner, along with assessments of candidate firms' employee programs, ranging from professional development programs to work/life balance initiatives.

Padilla has regularly scored high on the Holmes "Best Agency to Work For" list, but this is the first time Padilla has been named the No. 1 agency to work for in America. Padilla also won in the related category of "Best Large Agency to Work For," for 2010 - another first for the firm.

In the separate SABRE awards announced last night, Padilla won for a press kit the agency created for client Jim Beam Bourbon. The firm was a finalist in three other categories for its work with Jim Beam, Mayo Clinic/Microsoft and Cardiovascular Solutions.

Other public relations agencies with offices in Minnesota that took home SABRE awards include Weber Shandwick, Carmichael Lynch Spong, Risdall McKinney Public Relations and Tunheim Partners. St. Paul-based Kohnstamm Communications was named the 2010 "Boutique Agency of the Year."
